This week has been a very difficult week for me on many levels. The frigid temperatures combined with the short daylight is tough in the best of years. I knew it was going to take every ounce of my being to stay strong this winter. Having a goal like the Boston Marathon has helped prevent me from sleeping this winter away (which is really what I want to do). The picture above was taken exactly a year ago today at dinner in Epcot. This was Candice and my last vacation together. We went to Disney World to surprise our niece Sarah on her 10th Birthday. It was a wonderful trip full of fun memories.
Since this holiday weekend was particularly challenging for me mentally, I ended up running two long runs. My 11 mile run on Saturday was sponsored by new donors (Paula Callaghan, Tara Fischer and Marie Butler) and was a shout out to Sarah on her 11th birthday!
My second long run on Monday was 8.5 miles and was sponsored by and dedicated to one of my oldest and dearest friends - Rebecca Mackey. She encouraged me to eat so much that I had to run off all the calories that I took in on her visit. Thank you Rebecca for making the trip up to help me get through the tough days.
If you haven't donated yet, but are planning to, please consider splitting your donation up. By donating partly now - it gets me out there on those tough mental days when I don't want to leave my home!
Thank you – donors!
